What this amendment would do
Mr. Kim submitted this amendment to add a pilot program for a one-way and counter-unmanned aircraft system drone testbed to bill S. 4784.
The purpose of this program is to:
- Accelerate the integration of modular payloads onto multiple drone platforms.
- Reduce the time it takes to field lethal and non-lethal drone-enabled munitions.
- Standardize interfaces between payloads and platforms.
- Support the rapid prototyping, validation, and transition of drone-enabled munitions into programs of record.
The Secretary of the Army is tasked with establishing the program to test, evaluate, and demonstrate the integration of approved munition payloads with approved unmanned aircraft systems.
