What this amendment would do

SA 5813, proposed by Mr. Gallego, aims to change a specific section of a previous amendment (SA 5453) to bill S. 2.

The amendment makes the following changes:

  • It replaces lines 9 through 12 on page 11 to provide $2,489,000,000 that remains available until September 30, 2029.

  • It adds SEC. 204, which appropriates $10,000,000 to U.S. Citizenship and Immigration Services for fiscal year 2026.

  • The purpose of the $10,000,000 is to ensure the timely adjudication of each associated application for an employment authorization document and each renewal application for deferred action under the Deferred Action for Childhood Arrivals program.
