What this amendment would do

SA 5775, submitted by Mr. Heinrich, aims to add a new section to title I of bill S. 2.

The purpose of this amendment is to provide $400,000,000 to the Secretary of Homeland Security for fiscal year 2026. These funds are intended for the Department of Homeland Security to perform the following:

Map, track, and expose propaganda of the Chinese Communist Party in the United States.
Map, track, and expose coercive economic practices of the Chinese Communist Party in the United States.

Additionally, the amendment changes the amount appropriated under section 102 to $7,050,000,000.
