What this amendment would do

SA 5771, submitted by Mr. Kelly, is an amendment to amendment SA 5453, which is proposed for bill S. 2.

The purpose of this amendment is to change the text starting at page 6, line 17, through page 11, line 3.

It adds Section 202, titled "Protecting the Supplemental Nutrition Assistance Program." This section states that it is the sense of the Senate that the amount appropriated for the supplemental nutrition assistance program under the Food and Nutrition Act of 2008 should be increased.
