What this amendment would do

SA 5763, proposed by Mr. Peters, is an amendment to amendment SA 5453 to bill S. 2.

The purpose of this amendment is to add a section regarding the rescission of OBBBA funds.

It aims to change the bill by adding a requirement that:

  • All unobligated balances of funds from title X of the "One Big Beautiful Bill Act" (Public Law 119-21) be rescinded.
  • These funds must be transferred to the general fund of the Treasury to reduce the deficit.
