What this amendment would do

SA 5752, submitted by Ms. Alsobrooks, is an amendment to SA 5453 regarding bill S. 2.

The purpose of this amendment is to stop the Act from applying until a specific law is passed. The Act will only take effect once the Secretary of Health and Human Services determines that a law has been enacted to make child care free or affordable for working families.

To meet this requirement, the law must ensure that no working family pays more than 7 percent of their family income for child care.
