What this amendment would do

SA 5738, submitted by Ms. Alsobrooks, aims to move funds to support nutrition education.

The amendment intends to change the bill by doing the following:

Reducing the amount appropriated under section 202 by $1,500,000,000.
Appropriating $1,500,000,000 to the Secretary of Agriculture for fiscal year 2026 to carry out the nutrition education program under the supplemental nutrition assistance program established under the Food and Nutrition Act of 2008.
