What this amendment would do

SA 5715, submitted by Mr. Blumenthal, is an amendment to bill S. 2.

The purpose of this amendment is to stop the use of the Judgment Fund (amounts appropriated under section 1304 of title 31, United States Code, or any other Act) to pay for settling claims.

Specifically, it aims to prohibit these funds from being used to settle claims related to the January 6, 2021, attack on the United States Capitol when the claims involve any person convicted of sedition or seditious conspiracy in connection with that attack.
