What this amendment would do

SA 5703, submitted by Mr. Blumenthal, aims to add a section to bill S. 2 regarding a DOJ OIG Investigation.

The purpose of this amendment is to require the Inspector General of the Department of Justice to investigate why the bribery investigation into Tom Homan was dropped.

To fund this, the amendment allows for the use of funds from the One Big Beautiful Bill Act (Public Law 119-21), which the Secretary of Homeland Security must transfer to the Inspector General of the Department of Justice when requested.
