What this amendment would do

SA 5700, submitted by Mr. Blumenthal, aims to add a section to bill S. 2 regarding a DOJ OIG Investigation.

The purpose of this amendment is to require the Inspector General of the Department of Justice to investigate if the Department of Justice is complying with the Epstein Files Transparency Act.

To fund this, the amendment allows the Inspector General to use money from the One Big Beautiful Bill Act, which the Secretary of Homeland Security must transfer upon request.
