What this amendment would do

SA 5691, submitted by Mr. Blumenthal, aims to add a new section to bill S. 2.

The purpose of this amendment is to require the Inspector General of the Department of Justice to investigate how employee polygraphs are used at the Federal Bureau of Investigation.

To pay for this, the amendment allows the use of funds from the One Big Beautiful Bill Act (Public Law 119-21), which the Secretary of Homeland Security will transfer to the Inspector General upon request.
