What this amendment would do

SA 5661, submitted by Mr. GALLEGO, aims to add a new section to S. 2.

The purpose of this amendment is to stop the use of funds from this Act or any other Act to authorize, permit, facilitate, or carry out the export of crude oil from the United States.

This prohibition remains in place until the Secretary of Energy certifies to Congress that the Strategic Petroleum Reserve is refilled to its authorized storage capacity of 714,000,000 barrels.
