What this amendment would do
Mr. Warnock submitted amendment SA 566 to the concurrent resolution setting forth the congressional budget for the United States Government for fiscal year 2025 and through fiscal year 2034.
The purpose of this amendment is to add a deficit-neutral reserve fund relating to protecting the public health workforce to the end of title III.
What It Aims to Change or Add
-
It allows the Chairman of the Committee on the Budget of the Senate to revise allocations, aggregates, and other appropriate levels, and make adjustments to the pay-as-you-go ledger.
-
These revisions can be made for legislation relating to public health.
-
This may include prohibiting further cuts to the workforce of the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention that threaten or undermine lifesaving public health efforts.
-
The changes are allowed as long as the legislation would not increase the deficit over the total period of fiscal years 2025 through 2034.
