What this amendment would do

SA 5657, submitted by Mr. Booker, aims to replace section 104 of bill S. 2.

The purpose of this amendment is to provide $2,500,000,000 to the Secretary of Homeland Security for fiscal year 2026. These funds are intended to be available until September 30, 2029, for the following:

Hiring, paying, training, and equipping Transportation Security Administration Officers and related support personnel.
Other necessary expenses for transportation security operations, workforce readiness, and mission support.
Coverage during any lapse in appropriations.
