What this amendment would do

SA 5620, submitted by Mr. Heinrich, aims to add a new section to title I of bill S. 2.

The purpose of this amendment is to provide $400,000,000 to the Director of the Cybersecurity and Infrastructure Security Agency for fiscal year 2026. These funds, which remain available until September 30, 2029, are intended for the Department of Homeland Security to:

Map, track, and expose propaganda of the Chinese Communist Party in the United States.
Map, track, and expose coercive economic practices of the Chinese Communist Party in the United States.

Additionally, the amendment changes the amount appropriated under section 102 to be $7,050,000,000.
