What this amendment would do

SA 5607, submitted by Mr. Heinrich, is an amendment to SA 5453 for bill S. 2. Its purpose is to add a section to title I regarding the appropriation of funds to reunite veterans and separated family members, including minor children.

It appropriates $400,000,000 to U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement for fiscal year 2026, available until September 30, 2029.
It reduces the amount appropriated under section 102 to $7,050,000,000.
