What this amendment would do

SA 5600, submitted by Mr. Heinrich, aims to make the following changes:

Set the amount appropriated to the Director of U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement at $30,975,000,000.
Appropriate $100,000,000 to the Department of Justice for fiscal year 2026.

The purpose of the additional funding is to coordinate with the Bureau of International Narcotics and Law Enforcement Affairs of the Department of State to stop illicit fentanyl-related substances in the United States. These funds remain available through September 30, 2029.
