What this amendment would do

SA 5536, submitted by Mr. KIM, aims to add a section to S. 2 regarding a DHS Inspector General Audit.

The purpose of this amendment is to:

Require the Inspector General of the Department of Homeland Security to perform an annual audit on how reconciliation funds are spent for fiscal years 2025 through 2029.
Require the Inspector General to send a report with the audit findings to Congress. These reports are due:
- Within 30 days after the Act is enacted for fiscal year 2025.
- Within 30 days after the last day of fiscal years 2026 through 2029.
