What this amendment would do

SA 5497, submitted by Mr. Warner, is an amendment to bill S. 2.

The purpose of this amendment is to prohibit certain payments from the fund created by the Settlement Agreement in Trump v. Internal Revenue Service, No. 1:26-cv-20609 (S.D. Fla. May 18, 2026).

Specifically, it aims to stop payments from that fund to:

Organizations described in section 501(c)(4) of the Internal Revenue Code of 1986 that are exempt from taxation under section 501(a).
Political organizations as defined in section 527(e)(1) of the Code.
