What this amendment would do

SA 5496, submitted by Mr. Warner, aims to add a section to title I of bill S. 2.

The amendment proposes the following changes:

  • It would provide an additional $1,000,000,000 to the Director of the Cybersecurity and Infrastructure Security Agency for fiscal year 2026. These funds are specifically for hardening critical infrastructure against cyberattacks generated by artificial intelligence.

  • It would reduce the amount appropriated under section 102 to $6,450,000,000.
