S.Amdt. 5492

SA 5492, submitted by Ms. Smith and Ms. Klobuchar, is an amendment to bill S. 2.

The purpose of this amendment is to ensure cooperation between Federal and State investigative authorities when a Federal law enforcement officer is involved in an enforcement action that results in the death of a civilian.

It adds a requirement that the head of the Federal agency employing the officer must ensure full cooperation between these authorities during the investigation of the death.
