What this amendment would do

SA 5478, submitted by Mr. Hickenlooper, aims to add a section titled FARMER FERTILIZER ASSISTANCE FUNDING to bill S. 2.

The purpose of this amendment is to take $1,000,000,000 from unobligated funds in Public Law 119-21 (the One Big Beautiful Bill Act) and give that money to the Secretary of Agriculture.

This funding is intended to help farmers buy fertilizer that has become more expensive because of the war in Iran.
