What this amendment would do

SA 5458, submitted by Mr. Coons, aims to add a new section to bill S. 2.

The purpose of this amendment is to stop the Department of Justice from using taxpayer funds for the following:

  • Payments from the "Anti-Weaponization Fund" announced on May 18, 2026.
  • Any payment from any other fund created as part of an agreement to settle claims brought by a sitting President.
