What this amendment would do

SA 5456, submitted by Ms. Hassan, aims to move money from the Anti-Weaponization Fund (established by the Attorney General on May 18, 2026) to the HOME Investment Partnerships program.

The amendment proposes to take $1,776,000,000 from the Fund—including money used for claims related to the Fund or settlement agreements involving Trump v. Internal Revenue Service, No. 1:26-cv-20609—and use it for the following purpose:

Helping to build 100,000 new homes.
