What this amendment would do
Mr. Warnock submitted amendment numbered SA 512, which was proposed to the concurrent resolution S. Con. Res. 7 for the fiscal year 2025 budget.
The purpose of this amendment is to add a deficit-neutral reserve fund relating to supporting disaster recovery efforts at the end of title III.
It aims to allow the Chairman of the Committee on the Budget of the Senate to revise allocations, aggregates, and other levels, and make adjustments to the pay-as-you-go ledger.
-
Bolstering disaster response programs
-
Supporting communities and individuals recovering from Hurricane Helene or other natural disasters
-
Protecting against funding and staffing cuts to the Federal Emergency Management Agency
This change applies as long as the legislation does not increase the deficit over the total period of fiscal years 2025 through 2034.
