What this amendment would do

Mr. Peters submitted amendment SA 487 to the concurrent resolution setting forth the congressional budget for the United States Government for fiscal year 2025 and setting forth the appropriate budgetary levels for fiscal years 2026 through 2034.

The purpose of this amendment is to add a deficit-neutral reserve fund relating to ensuring that adequate resources are allocated to the remediation of PFAS contamination in communities surrounding Air National Guard bases.

It aims to allow the Chairman of the Committee on the Budget of the Senate to revise committee allocations, aggregates, and other appropriate levels in the resolution, and make adjustments to the pay-as-you-go ledger, for legislation relating to ensuring that adequate resources are allocated to this cleanup.

  • The legislation must be for ensuring adequate resources are allocated to the remediation of PFAS contamination in communities surrounding Air National Guard bases.
  • The legislation must not increase the deficit over the period of the total of fiscal years 2025 through 2034.
