Changes bill
119-S-4201 — Indo-Pacific Space Partnership Act of 2026
  1. Introduced

What this amendment would do

The amendment, which may be called the Indo-Pacific Space Partnership Act of 2026, aims to change the bill by striking everything after the enacting clause and replacing it with new requirements.

The purpose is to require the Commander of the United States Space Command to provide a report to Congress within one year. This report must look at the feasibility and advisability of adding more allies in the Indo-Pacific region, specifically including the Republic of Korea and Japan, to the Multinational Force Operation Olympic Defender.

The report must include:

  • A description of current activities and initiatives to expand the operation to Indo-Pacific allies.
  • Any policy changes needed by the governments of Japan, the Republic of Korea, or other identified allies for the United States to send a formal invitation to join.
  • Any funding or policy changes needed to help Japan, the Republic of Korea, and other identified allies join.
  • An assessment of how this would affect United States national security interests.
  • An assessment of whether it is feasible and in the national interest of the United States for Japan and the Republic of Korea to join.
  • The resources or authorities needed from the legislative and executive branches to make this happen.
