What this amendment would do

SA 4783, submitted by Mr. Warnock, aims to add a section to S. 1383.

The purpose of this amendment is to move $2,900,000,000 from the unobligated balances of funds appropriated for U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement (under the One Big Beautiful Bill Act) to the Secretary of Defense.

These funds would be used to supplement the basic allowance for housing for members of the following branches:

Army
Air Force
Navy
Marine Corps
Space Force
