What this amendment would do

SA 4716, also known as the End Warehouse Detention Act, aims to add a new section to bill S. 1383.

The purpose of this amendment is to stop the use of federal funds from Public Law 119-21 for the following:

Purchasing warehouses or contracting with warehouse owners to detain noncitizens.
Repurposing, operating, staffing, or maintaining warehouses owned by U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement or U.S. Customs and Border Protection for detaining noncitizens.
