What this amendment would do

The amendment, submitted by Mr. KIM, aims to add a section to bill S. 1383 called the ICE Funding Accountability Act.

The purpose of this addition is to create a spending limitation. It specifies that funds from Public Law 119-21 cannot be used for the following:

Paying salaries for U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement or U.S. Customs and Border Protection agents or officers hired on or after the date the Act is enacted.
Recruiting, advertising for hiring, or paying sign on or retention bonuses to those agents or officers.
