What this amendment would do

This amendment, submitted by Mr. Welch to bill S. 1383, aims to add two specific repeals to the legislation:

Medicaid Cost Sharing: It seeks to repeal Section 71120 of Public Law 119-21 and rescind the amounts appropriated under section 71120(c) of that same law. This would return title XIX of the Social Security Act to how it was before that section was enacted.
Orphan Drugs: It seeks to repeal Section 71203 of Public Law 119-21. This would result in title XI of the Social Security Act being applied as if that section and its amendments had not been enacted, specifically regarding the exclusion for orphan drugs under the drug price negotiation program.
