What this amendment would do

SA 4700, submitted by Mr. Welch, aims to add a section regarding Disaster Relief Assistance to bill S. 1383.

The purpose of this amendment is to change how certain funds are handled by doing the following:

Transferring unobligated balances from section 100052 of the One Big Beautiful Bill Act (Public Law 119-21) to the Administrator of the Federal Emergency Management Agency.
Making these funds available for the Administrator to provide assistance for major disasters under the Robert T. Stafford Disaster Relief and Emergency Assistance Act.
