What this amendment would do
What the Amendment Does
-
Mr. Welch submitted amendment SA 467 to the concurrent resolution on the budget for fiscal year 2025.
-
The amendment adds a new section to title III that creates a deficit-neutral reserve fund.
-
It aims to allow changes in revenues that would prohibit an extension or modification of any Federal tax cut until the Government Accountability Office gives written confirmation to the Senate.
-
This written confirmation must state that every Federal agency is in full compliance with all lawfully issued court orders issued on or after January 20, 2025.
-
Any legislation doing this must not increase the deficit over the total period of fiscal years 2025 through 2034.
