What this amendment would do

SA 4662, submitted by Ms. Murkowski, is an amendment proposed to amendment SA 4420 for bill S. 1383.

The purpose of this amendment is to add a new subsection to Section 4 of the Act. This addition aims to change the law by:

Establishing that requirements to provide documentary proof of United States citizenship will not apply to certain states.
This exemption applies to any State that can show that noncitizen voting in Federal office elections is less than 0.05 percent.
