What this amendment would do
Mr. Welch submitted the amendment, known as SA 460, to be proposed to the concurrent resolution setting forth the congressional budget for the United States Government for fiscal year 2025 and setting forth the appropriate budgetary levels for fiscal years 2026 through 2034.
The purpose of the amendment is to add a deficit-neutral reserve fund relating to condemning pardons by President Trump of any person who committed violent actions against law enforcement officers on January 6, 2021.
The amendment aims to allow the Chairman of the Committee on the Budget of the Senate to revise committee allocations, aggregates, and other appropriate levels in the resolution, and make adjustments to the pay-as-you-go ledger. This applies to legislation relating to public safety, which may include condemning President Trump for pardoning any person who committed violent actions against law enforcement officers on January 6, 2021, provided that the legislation does not increase the deficit over the total fiscal years 2025 through 2034.
