What this amendment would do

The amendment, submitted by Mr. Wyden, is called the Protection of Social Security Benefits Restoration Act.

Its purpose is to protect certain benefits from administrative offset. Specifically, it aims to add a section to bill S. 1383 that would make certain parts of the United States Code null and void, effectively repealing the authority to use administrative offsets for:

Railroad Retirement
Black Lung benefits
