What this amendment would do

SA 4387, submitted by Mr. REED, is an amendment to H.R. 6644, which is a bill focused on increasing the supply of housing in America.

The purpose of this amendment is to transfer unobligated balances from ICE appropriations (specifically from sections 90003 and 100052 of the One Big Beautiful Bill Act) to the following housing programs:

50 percent goes to the Housing Trust Fund.
25 percent goes to the Capital Magnet Fund.
25 percent goes to the Secretary of Housing and Urban Development for the HOME Investment Partnerships program.

The amendment adds that these transferred funds will be merged with other amounts in those programs, follow the same conditions and limitations, and stay available until they are spent.
