What this amendment would do

SA 4365, submitted by Mrs. Blackburn, is an amendment to H.R. 6644, which is a bill intended to increase the supply of housing in America.

The purpose of this amendment is to change how primary residences that are not real property are treated during bankruptcy. It aims to make the following changes:

It replaces the term "real property" with "property" in Section 1322, subsection (b)(2) and subsection (c)(2) of title 11, United States Code.
It replaces the term "real property" with "property" in Section 1123(b)(5) of title 11, United States Code.
It adds a statement to Section 722 of title 11, United States Code, stating that the section does not apply to "tangible personal property that is the debtor's principal residence."
