What this amendment would do

This amendment, submitted by Mr. Reed for bill H.R. 6644, aims to move money from ICE appropriations to housing programs. It proposes to take unobligated balances and obligated balances that have not been outlayed from specific sections of the "One Big Beautiful Bill Act" and distribute them as follows:

50 percent to the Housing Trust Fund.
25 percent to the Capital Magnet Fund.
25 percent to the Secretary of Housing and Urban Development for the HOME Investment Partnerships program.

The amendment further specifies that these transferred funds will be merged with existing amounts in those funds or programs, follow the same conditions and limitations, and stay available until they are spent.
