What this amendment would do

SA 4336, submitted by Mr. Sullivan and Ms. Murkowski, is an amendment to H.R. 6644, a bill intended to increase the supply of housing in America.

The purpose of this amendment is to add a Homeless Emergency Assistance Rule with the following requirements:

  • The Secretary of Housing and Urban Development must re-open the public comment period for the interim rule titled "Homeless Emergency Assistance and Rapid Transition to Housing: Continuum of Care Program" for at least 60 days. This must happen within 30 days of the Act's enactment.

  • The Secretary of Housing and Urban Development must publish the final rule in the Federal Register within 1 year after the public comment period closes. This final rule must take effect within 30 days of being published.
