What this amendment would do
Mrs. Shaheen submitted amendment SA 421 to the concurrent resolution for the 2025 congressional budget. The purpose of this amendment is to add a deficit-neutral reserve fund at the end of title III.
- The amendment aims to allow the Chairman of the Committee on the Budget of the Senate to revise committee allocations, aggregates, and other appropriate levels in the resolution.
- It allows adjustments to the pay-as-you-go ledger for legislation relating to improving services and interventions for sexual assault, family violence, domestic violence, dating violence, stalking, and child abuse.
- The included programs and grants may address violence against women, assist victims of child abuse, or provide housing and emergency shelter to survivors.
- These changes depend on the amounts provided in such legislation, as long as the legislation does not increase the deficit from fiscal year 2025 through fiscal year 2034.
