What this amendment would do

Mrs. Shaheen submitted amendment SA 417, which is intended to be proposed to the concurrent resolution on the budget for fiscal year 2025. The purpose of this amendment is to add a deficit-neutral reserve fund relating to supporting multi-State regional commissions at the end of title III.

What It Aims to Change or Add

  • It allows the Chairman of the Senate Committee on the Budget to revise committee allocations, aggregates, and other appropriate levels in the resolution.
  • It permits adjustments to the pay-as-you-go ledger for legislation relating to supporting multi-State regional commissions, which may include the Northern Border Regional Commission.
  • It requires that any such legislation must not increase the deficit over the total period of fiscal years 2025 through 2034.
