What this amendment would do

SA 4118, submitted by Ms. Baldwin, is an amendment to amendment SA 3951 and bill H.R. 4016. The bill focuses on appropriations for the Department of Defense for the fiscal year ending September 30, 2026.

The purpose of this amendment is to add specific minimum funding requirements for the following programs:

  • Maximizing Access to Research Careers (MARC) program: Not less than $13,100,000.

  • Post-Baccalaureate Research Education Program: Not less than $18,800,000.

  • Undergraduate Research Training Initiative for Student Enhancement program: Not less than $21,300,000.

  • Bridges to Doctorate program: Not less than $6,400,000.

  • Initiative for Maximizing Student Development program: Not less than $15,500,000.

  • Institutional Research and Academic Career Development Award: Not less than $20,800,000.
