What this amendment would do

SA 4116, submitted by Mr. Hickenlooper and Mr. Bennet, is an amendment to be proposed to amendment SA 3951 and bill H.R. 4016.

The purpose of this amendment is to change the funding and operational requirements for the National Center for Atmospheric Research for fiscal year 2026. It aims to add the following requirements:

  • The National Science Foundation must provide base funds to the National Center for Atmospheric Research in an amount that is not less than what was provided in fiscal year 2024.

  • The National Science Foundation must ensure that all facilities, capabilities, and operations of the National Center for Atmospheric Research continue.
