What this amendment would do

SA 4111, submitted by Mr. Reed and Mr. Whitehouse, is an amendment intended for amendment SA 3951 and bill H.R. 4016.

The purpose of this amendment is to add Section 225 to the bill to set specific funding amounts for the following:

  • Justice Operations, Management, and Accountability--Salaries and Expenses: $137,000,000.

  • Office of Justice Programs--State and Local Law Enforcement Assistance: $1,883,146,000.

Within the funding for State and Local Law Enforcement Assistance, $5,000,000 is designated for emergency Federal law enforcement assistance for events occurring during or after fiscal year 2026. This is authorized by section 609M of the Justice Assistance Act of 1984 to support purposes specified in section 501 of the Omnibus Crime Control and Safe Streets Act of 1968.
