What this amendment would do

SA 4103, submitted by Mr. Lujan, is an amendment to bill H.R. 4016, which covers appropriations for the Department of Defense for the fiscal year ending September 30, 2026.

The purpose of this amendment is to provide Aamodt Litigation Settlement Protection by changing Section 623(g) of the Aamodt Litigation Settlement Act. Specifically, it aims to:

  • Change the phrasing of "The dates" to "(1) Conditions precedent; expiration date.--The dates".

  • Add a new section stating that dates in subsection (e) can be extended if the County, City, State, United States (acting through the Secretary), and the Pueblos all agree that an extension is reasonably necessary.
