What this amendment would do

SA 4060, submitted by Ms. Rosen, aims to add a new section to the bill H.R. 4016.

The purpose of this amendment is to require the Secretary of Defense to create a process to identify current and former members of the Armed Forces who were stationed at a covered location.

A covered location is defined as:

  • Any facility on the most recent Department of Energy list for the Energy Employees Occupational Illness Compensation Program Act of 2000.

  • Any Department of Defense location that is classified or data masked where there is or was potential exposure to toxic substances, such as those from burn pits used for waste disposal.
