What this amendment would do
Mr. Ossoff submitted an amendment, known as SA 406, to the concurrent resolution on the budget for the United States Government for fiscal year 2025 and for fiscal years 2026 through 2034.
What the amendment aims to do
The amendment adds a section to title III that creates a deficit-neutral reserve fund relating to protecting disease prevention efforts at the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention.
It allows the Chairman of the Committee on the Budget of the Senate to revise committee allocations, aggregates, and other appropriate levels, and to make adjustments to the pay-as-you-go ledger.
These changes can be made for legislation relating to public health, which may include protecting disease prevention efforts at the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention.
This can only happen if the legislation does not increase the deficit over the total period of fiscal years 2025 through 2034.
