What this amendment would do

SA 4046, submitted by Mr. Bennet and Mr. Sheehy, is an amendment to bill H.R. 4016. This bill makes appropriations for the Department of Defense for the fiscal year ending September 30, 2026, and for other purposes.

The purpose of this amendment is to provide a waiver of overtime caps for wildland firefighters.

It aims to change Section 1701 of the Extending Government Funding and Delivering Emergency Assistance Act by:

  • Changing the specific years listed as 2021 or 2022 or 2023 or 2024 to 2021 or any calendar year thereafter in subsection (a)(1).

  • Changing the text 2021 or 2022 or 2023 or 2024 to the applicable calendar year in both subsection (b) and subsection (c).

  • Making minor text corrections to the words Services and subsection in subsection (a)(1).
