What this amendment would do

SA 4019, submitted by Mrs. Shaheen, is an amendment to SA 3951 and bill H.R. 4016. H.R. 4016 provides appropriations for the Department of Defense for the fiscal year ending September 30, 2026, and other purposes.

The amendment aims to add the following requirements to page 394, line 5 of the bill:

  • Use sufficient funding to ensure the publication of research and data collection continue at long-term experimental areas, also known as Experimental Forests and Ranges.

  • Use sufficient funding to restore staff to lead researcher positions that are currently vacant at these long-term experimental areas.
